Today, I would like to suggest the idea of setting aside just 10 minutes of your time every day to work on improving yourself. The key is to constantly do this, as 10 minutes a day adds up to 1 hour and 10 minutes weekly. Overtime, you will develop new healthy habits. The possibility of what you can do in 10 minutes are endless. Here are 7 solid ideas on how you could spend your 10 minutes.

#1. Walking meditation

I learned this fun mediation at a yoga class held at Valley. The purpose of this exercise is to help you feel grounded and clear your mind. Close your eyes and really focus in on your senses. Pay attention to how you move your feet and walk forward with intention. Walking meditation really helps relax you.

#2. Read a chapter of a good book

Reading is a great way to stimulate your brain. If you don’t have enough time to spend 2 hours reading, just try reading one chapter a day for 10 minutes. In a couple weeks, you will have finished a book.

#3. Take a stroll outside

Nothing is more refreshing than stepping outside to take a nice walk. Walking is good for your heart and it helps to keep you strong and healthy.

#4. Learn a new Language

Try something new. Learning a new language is challenging yet very rewarding. If you spend 10 minutes of your day trying to learn a couple of words in a language, soon you will develop a new skill.

#5. Check in with yourself

As a travel nurse, it is so easy to forget to check in with yourself. Ask yourself “how are you doing?” Self-reflection can help you maintain a balanced life.
